The magical world of Disney has always captured the attention of the young and old alike.

The magical world of Disney has always captured the attention of the young and old alike; they’ve all spent most of their childhood living in the enchanting world of Disney princes and princesses. The UAE, specifically the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, will be home to the next Disneyland theme park; reiterating the pivotal role the UAE plays in the Middle East and its status as a major destination for international tourism.

The much-awaited Disneyland Abu Dhabi will constitute the first theme park the Walt Disney Company opens in the Middle East. Set to be Disney's most technologically advanced park yet, this site constitutes the seventh Disneyland worldwide. According to Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D'Amaro, the park is projected to serve about 500 million people in the area, most likely creating thousands of employment, boosting the local economy, and drawing billions in investments.

A Strategic Partnership between The Walt Disney Company and Miral

The Walt Disney Company has partnered with Miral Group, an Abu Dhabi-based company known for designing immersive environments, to develop Disneyland Abu Dhabi. Disney Imagineers will lead the creative design and guarantee the park reflects Disney's storytelling brilliance; while Miral will finance, develop, and run the park.

Project Details: Location and Timeline.

Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s premier entertainment hub, will welcome the new Disneyland, complementing a wealth of world-class attractions including Warner Bros. World, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, and Ferrari World. Although the exact opening date is not yet known, given the size of the project, this park is foreseen to open its doors between 2030 and 2033.

Expected Features and Unique Attractions

“Authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati” is how Disney described its upcoming Abu Dhabi park; fusing Disney's legendary characters and stories with Emirati cultural elements. The park is set to have themed accommodations, unique dining and retail experiences, and innovative attractions. The most notable feature of the park will be its central castle, designed as a modern, crystal-like construction, veering away from the conventional designs.

Economic Impact: Boosting Tourism, Real Estate, and the Economy

The opening of Disneyland Abu Dhabi is expected to reflect positively on multiple sectors including tourism, real estate, hospitality, and others. Countless tourists from all around the world will flock to Abu Dhabi to savor the magical world of Disney; especially with the strategic location the UAE enjoys; located at a four-hour flight from one third of the world population.

Regarding real estate, demand for short-term rentals and employee lodgings near the park is expected to sky-rocket particularly in Yas Acres, West Yas, and Al Raha Beach. Investors are advised to capitalize on this opportunity by looking for investment opportunities in properties located close to the site, namely family-oriented villas, serviced apartments, and studio apartments. Aludra Estates experts are ready to put their experience in Abu Dhabi real estate at your disposal to help you find the most lucrative investment opportunity in Yas Island.

At the level of Abu Dhabi economy, the park is expected to generate many employment opportunities and boost growth in sectors including hospitality, retail, and transportation, thus supporting Abu Dhabi's economic diversification objectives.
